Fund a Scholarship

Scholarship Giving

Your scholarship gift can support students in powerful ways, with three levels of commitment—annual, funded, and endowed—each offering a different balance of flexibility, duration, and legacy. You can choose the option that best aligns with your goals, whether making an immediate impact, providing support over several years, or creating a permanent source of opportunity.

Annual Scholarship

Annual Scholarship represents the most flexible level of commitment. Funded through a single charitable gift made each year (minimum $1,000, no maximum), the full contribution is awarded to a student in the same academic year it is received. Annual scholarships allow donors to respond quickly to student needs, provide annual gifts that transform lives and to see their giving impact on students year to year. Each year’s gift stands alone and is renewed annually.

Funded Scholarship

Funded Scholarship reflects a deeper, multi-year commitment. Established through a one-time gift or a series of contributions, the fund is distributed annually until fully expended. This structure provides consistent support for students over several years and also allows the donor flexibility to continue to add to the fund and grow it year over year. Funded scholarships are well suited for individuals or organizations seeking sustained impact over time.

Annual Scholarship

Endowed Scholarship represents the highest and most enduring level of commitment. The full contribution is invested and preserved in perpetuity as part of the Foundation’s Investment Fund Endowment. Annually, 5% of the endowment is awarded in scholarships or other support to the College. Endowed scholarships create a permanent legacy—supporting students’ generation after generation—while honoring the donor or someone they wish to recognize.

Selection Criteria

When establishing a scholarship, you have the opportunity to define clear selection criteria that reflect your philanthropic goals. Donors may choose the scholarship name, the number of students to be awarded each year, and the dollar amount of the award (dependent on funding limits). In addition, donors may specify the eligibility criteria students must meet to qualify, such as field of study, academic achievement, financial need, or residency.

Annual Update

Each year, donors receive a personalized scholarship impact report introducing the student their generosity has supported, including their area of study and educational journey. When available, a personal message from the recipient adds another meaningful glimpse into the life and aspirations touched by their generosity. When schedules allow, many donors also enjoy the opportunity to meet their recipients in person.
