The start of a new academic year brought plenty of excitement as the Indian River State College Alumni Association helped welcome our newest students and their families to campus during New Student Orientation. The Alumni Association Director had the opportunity to speak to the College’s faculty about the importance of building connections with students from the very beginning of their journey. The welcome extended to our residential students as well, with 100 gift bags prepared for students moving into the residence halls.
The Alumni Association also helped bring a festive welcome to campus by decorating the hallway in the KSU near the bookstore and Alumni Association office. On the first day of New Student Orientation, new students were greeted by the Alumni Association and treated to snacks and sunglasses—a little something to help them start their college experience with a smile. Throughout orientation, it was especially meaningful to meet students and their parents, answer questions, and introduce them to a connection that can last well beyond graduation. After all, today’s students are tomorrow’s alumni!
