The Gilbert's Family of Companies Legacy of Giving:
Empowering Education and Community
The Gilbert’s Family of Companies has long been a pillar of support for Indian River State College (IRSC), the IRSC Foundation, and the greater Treasure Coast community. Through years of generous contributions, the Gilbert Family has made a meaningful and lasting impact on student success, educational access, and regional development.
Christa Luna, Chair of the Indian River State College District Board of Trustees, and Bert Culbreth, member of the Indian River State College Foundation Board of Directors, leaders within the Gilbert’s Family of Companies, exemplify this commitment. Along with their family, they recently announced a $100,000 donation to the IRSC Foundation’s Promise Program—further strengthening their long-standing tradition of giving. This latest contribution will help expand tuition-free college opportunities for local high school graduates in Okeechobee County, removing financial barriers and opening doors to higher education.
But the Gilbert’s Family of Companies impact extends far beyond this recent gift. Over the years, their support has enhanced Veteran programs and contributed to the development of the cutting-edge Advanced Workforce Training Complex at the Massey Campus in Ft. Pierce. Their investments have helped to empower countless students to pursue their dreams, graduate with confidence, and enter the workforce as skilled, capable professionals.
As business leaders and philanthropists, Christa Luna and Bert Culbreth bring their passion for education into every facet of their involvement. As IRSC Foundation Board members, they help guide the college’s mission and ensure that every donation creates tangible, lasting benefits.
The IRSC Foundation, college community, and the region as a whole are deeply grateful for the Gilbert’s Family of Companies’ unwavering support. Their legacy of giving continues to transform lives, one student at a time.
