Program Overview.
The Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning at Indian River State College offers engaging, peer-led educational experiences for adults who love to learn. Through classes, workshops, lectures, discussion groups, and educational travel opportunities, participants explore topics ranging from history and science to arts, culture, wellness, and current events—all in a welcoming, stress-free environment without grades or tests.
With programs offered in Vero Beach, Okeechobee, Fort Pierce, Stuart, and Port St. Lucie, the Institute creates meaningful opportunities for intellectual growth, connection, and discovery while fostering a vibrant community of lifelong learners.
Membership Benefits
The Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning at Indian River State College offers adults an engaging and affordable way to continue learning, connect with others, and explore new interests. Annual Fall/Spring membership is $75, with single-term memberships available for $50.
Membership provides reduced—or often no additional—fees for classes, lectures, workshops, and special events across five regional locations. Members enjoy a welcoming community of lifelong learners while exploring topics such as history, science, arts, culture, wellness, and current events in a relaxed, noncredit environment free from grades or tests.
By joining the Fielden Institute, members invest in lifelong curiosity, meaningful connection, and personal enrichment at every stage of life.

Become a Peer Leader
Do you have a passion, expertise, or experience you’d love to share? The Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning invites enthusiastic volunteers to become Peer Leaders and help shape our dynamic learning community. More than 80 Peer Leaders currently offer between 75 and 100 programs each year, enriching lives through shared knowledge and discussion.
