A Culture of Support
At Indian River State College, we are creating a culture of philanthropy. Our faculty, staff, and students know that when they give their time, treasure, and talents, beneficial change is not only possible but achievable.
We celebrate with our Treasure Coast community, the founding of Indian River State College. On October 27, 1959, the Florida Legislature authorized the establishment of Indian River Jr. College to serve the four-county area of St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, and Martin countries.
65 years later, we memorialize our college’s transition from a jr. college to a community college to a state college that offers bachelor’s degrees.
GIVING DAY at Indian River State College is a twenty-four-hour celebration of the place we love and an opportunity to raise money for several specific college-related causes:
- Student Engagement Fund – supports events and initiatives that reach a diverse student audience and positively impact the college.
- Program Fund – supports initiatives like the Promise Program, Student Housing, Endowed Teaching Chair Program, the Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning, and others.
- Class Gifts – a token of appreciation, this gift (from the graduating class to the college) can range from scholarships, endowments, and memorial funds to physical symbols of the Indian River State College spirit.
Create a Ripple of Change
The effect of a single financial gift ripples outward – first to our students and, ultimately, in undulating swells, to the community we live in. Join us as we grow a new tradition and establish an annual opportunity for giving.
