The Paulie Fund Endowed Scholarship: A Lasting Tribute to Paul Lefavi
The Paulie Fund Endowed Scholarship at Indian River State College (IRSC) honors the life and work of Paul Lefavi, a beloved long-time employee who passed away in 2019 from Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Lefavi, an accomplished videographer and Director of E-Learning at IRSC, dedicated over 20 years to helping students excel in digital media.
Following his passing, Lefavi’s family and friends established the Paulie Fund, creating an endowed scholarship for students in IRSC’s Digital Media program. The scholarship supports students pursuing careers in animation, gaming, graphic design, and related fields.
Since its inception, the scholarship has provided essential financial assistance to students like Vanessa Medina, a senior studying digital media with a focus on animation, and Erick Osorio, who used the award to purchase a new computer for his graphic design work. These scholarships help students stay focused on their education, alleviating financial pressures and enabling them to pursue their dreams.
IRSC is deeply grateful for the Paulie Fund Scholarship, which continues to inspire students and honors Paul Lefavi’s commitment to education, digital arts, and community. Through this scholarship, his legacy lives on, impacting future generations of digital media professionals.
